What is a slug?
An optional, readable phrase of up to 32 characters added to the short link, such as bl8.us/aBc123/my-product. It can describe the destination, improve SEO, and make the link easier to recognize.
Do I need an account to shorten a link?
No — paste a URL and shorten it right away. You'll only need to sign in with Google once you want to save it, edit it later, or view its analytics.
Can I pick my own short code?
Yes. Add a custom slug when creating a link, or leave it blank for an automatically generated code.
What happens when a link expires?
An expired link stops redirecting visitors. The link and its click history stay in your account, and you can extend or remove the expiration at any time.
Does every link really get a QR code?
