Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using bl8.us (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. Paid subscriptions are also subject to the terms presented during checkout.

2. The service

The Service shortens URLs into short links, generates QR codes for those links, and shows click analytics to the link's owner. The public redirect at bl8.us/{code} is unauthenticated; anyone with a short link can follow it. The Free plan includes the core features of the Service; the paid Pro plan removes its active-link limit and adds API access for creating links programmatically and exportable analytics.

3. Accounts

Creating and managing links requires signing in with a Google account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service (see Section 8 of our Privacy Policy). You're responsible for activity that happens under your account. Let us know if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

4. Billing and subscriptions

Pro is a paid subscription, billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis. It automatically renews unless canceled before the next renewal date.

Pro subscriptions are sold through Stripe Managed Payments, which acts as merchant of record for these transactions. Pricing, billing frequency, automatic-renewal terms, payment details, and applicable transaction terms are presented during checkout.

You can manage or cancel your subscription from your account's Profile page, which takes you to a Stripe-hosted subscription management page. Canceling stops future renewals, and Pro access continues through the end of the period already paid for.

Deleting your bl8 account cancels any active subscription and permanently ends access to your account, links, and associated account data.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to create links that point to or facilitate:

• Malware, phishing, fraud, or other content designed to harm or deceive visitors
• Illegal content, goods, services, or activity
• Spam, impersonation, or abusive use of redirects or analytics
• Content that infringes intellectual-property or other legal rights
• Attempts to bypass security controls or access internal or private network resources

We may block or remove links that violate this section, and some destinations are already rejected automatically at creation time (for example, links pointing at internal or private network addresses).

6. Your links and content

You're responsible for the destination URLs you shorten and for keeping them accurate. The Service doesn't review destination content before a link goes live, and a short link can be followed by anyone who has it. Don't shorten a URL you don't want to be reachable publicly.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, create a security or legal risk, or if we reasonably believe it's necessary to protect the Service or its users. We may also discontinue the Service, or any part of it. You may stop using the Service at any time.

8. Availability and warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," with no uptime guarantee and no warranty of any kind, express or implied. See the status page for current and historical information about Service availability and its dependencies. Nothing here limits any statutory right you have that can't be waived under applicable law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and its operators aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including loss of data, links, or click history.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded under applicable law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we'll provide reasonable notice before it takes effect; changes required by law may take effect sooner. Your continued use of the Service after an updated version takes effect means you accept it, except where applicable law requires additional notice or consent.
